Joe Pilates’ most famous book is called Return to Life. I founded Oma Pilates to offer return-to-life experiences — pulse, sweat, and challenge, as well as progress and moments of success. When you practice Pilates with consistent dedication, your body becomes strong, flexible, and full of vitality. It lifts you and gives you strength, and capability — in every dimension of your being.

I am truly happy that we have a classical Pilates studio here in Northern Finland, the only one of its kind in the region. I am also very proud of the clients at Oma Pilates, who train with dedication, stay active, maintain their fitness, and are motivated to learn. They have discovered Pilates as a powerful resource for themselves and radiate vitality and wellbeing.
I discovered Pilates about 15 years ago when I joined a beginner course at Kati Pylkkänen’s studio. I immediately knew that this method would stay with me — this is the kind of movement the body truly needs. At first, I planned to practice just for my own enjoyment, but eventually I completed instructor training, studied to become physical education instructor, and took the leap into entrepreneurship when a suitable studio space for Pilates became available.
The Pilates method is deeply rewarding, because I learn something new from it and through it every day. The strength it develops, the sense of two-way stretch, the potential for educating the body, and the support it provides for all movement are truly unique. Teaching this method is incredibly inspiring, and I continue to study constantly so I can help my clients even better.
I have completed two instructor trainings, graduated from the Classical Pilates Progression Program with Karen Frischmann (USA) and the Immersive Coaching Program with Wade Edwell (Australia). I also train regularly with Joel Crosby (USA) and have attended classes at Westwood Pilates (USA) with Daniela Escobar, Ken Krech, and Jay Grimes.
